Here’s a playlist I started to make a few weeks ago and then just remembered and finished. It’s called excited as heck and the songs in it are very exciting and fast and punchy and poky.

All right. This is me in playlist form (click through for zip file), as suggested by Giovanni (please everyone make these, that would be super rad [and tag them with ‘people as playlists’]).

I was going to write little descriptions about why I chose each song, but it’s very hard to put into words why some of them are important or what facet of me they describe, so I’m not gonna attempt that right now. Feel free to ask, though, if you want to know.

The tracklist is vaguely chronological, but also a mix of when bands were most important to me/when I discovered them & then what the songs actually are, lyrically, and more of a musical journey up to the present? Kind of. I’m not sure.

The last song, though, is a They Might Be Giants cover by Frank Black, and it is how I feel at this moment; it encapsulates everything I love about fall and reminds me of hay rides and apple cider and crazy colored canopies of trees and the smell of fire in cold air.
